At Coosa Valley Credit Union, we believe financial literacy starts with simple conversations, hands-on learning, and a little bit of fun along the way. That's exactly what happened during our recent visit to the Eddie Lee Wilkins Summer Camp in Cartersville, Georgia.
Morgen and Kirby from our Business Development Team had the opportunity to spend time with campers, teaching them the basics of smart money habits in a way that felt engaging, age-appropriate, and memorable. From learning about saving and spending to understanding the importance of making good financial choices, the kids were eager to participate, ask questions, and show off what they already knew.
Of course, the day was about more than just learning. Campers also got to enjoy a fun break by playing Mario Kart on our billboard truck, bringing excitement, laughter, and friendly competition to the camp experience. Along the way, the kids also had the chance to color pictures, giving them another creative way to connect with the lessons being shared.
These moments are a reminder of why community outreach matters. Teaching financial literacy to kids at a young age helps build a foundation for stronger financial futures. Whether it's learning how to save for something special, understanding the value of money, or simply becoming more confident when talking about finances, these lessons can make a lasting impact.
