General Steps: Opening a business account

When you're ready to open a business account with Coosa Valley Credit Union, we'll guide you through a simple and straightforward process. To get started, we'll need certain documentation depending on your business structure. This may include your IRS EIN confirmation letter, certification from the Secretary of State, and your operating agreement, among other documents. You can view a detailed list of requirements based on your business structure by clicking here or on the button below.

Once you have your required documents, you'll open a Business Savings Account with a $30 deposit—$5 of which serves as your one-time membership fee. If you choose to add a Business Checking Account, a minimum $25 deposit is required to get you up and running. Our team is here to help every step of the way as you build your business with confidence.

What maintenance fees?

Our business checking accounts are free of a monthly maintenance fee when your daily balance in your business checking stays at $1,000 or higher. If your balance falls below $1,000 at any point during the month, a low $10 fee will be applied at the end of the month. This ensures you get a cost-effective, easy-to-manage account while keeping your business finances running smoothly.

Why We Need this Information

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open an account, we will ask you to identify the beneficial owners of your company, as defined above. You will need to provide the following for each beneficial owner: Name, Address, Date of Birth and other identification information that will allow us to identify and verify the identities of your beneficial owners.
