Coosa Valley Credit Union provided financial literacy at a Transition Fair in Gordon County

Coosa Valley Credit Union was proud to support the next generation by providing financial literacy education at a Transition Fair in Gordon County, hosted at the Gordon County College and Career Academy.

During the event, Business Development Officer Katie and Business Development Director Kirby led three engaging sessions for students and young adults, focusing on the importance of financial literacy and how to effectively manage bank accounts. Their goal was simple: equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed to make smart financial decisions as they transition into adulthood.

Transition Fairs are designed to connect students and their families with valuable resources that support life after high school. From career guidance to financial education, these events play a key role in helping students navigate their next steps with clarity and confidence.

Throughout each session, Katie and Kirby broke down essential financial topics in a way that was both practical and easy to understand. Students learned about the basics of managing a checking account, how to avoid common banking pitfalls, and why building strong financial habits early can make a lasting impact.

At Coosa Valley Credit Union, investing in financial education is a core part of our mission. We believe that by empowering young adults with the right tools and knowledge, we can help set them up for long-term success.

We're grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an impactful event and look forward to continuing to serve and support our community through financial literacy initiatives.
