Coosa Valley Credit Union Proudly Helped Sponsor the Fan Fest Duck Plunge in Cherokee County, GA
The 1st ever Fan Fest Duck Plunge in Woodstock, Georgia made a big splash this year—literally—and Coosa Valley Credit Union was thrilled to help sponsor and participate in this fun-filled community event benefiting the Cherokee Youth Foundation. With hundreds of cheerful rubber ducks, cold water, and enthusiastic community members, the Duck Plunge proved how important the word "community" truly is in Cherokee County.

What Is the Duck Plunge?
Picture this: a giant pool set up in the heart of Downtown Woodstock, filled with water delivered by the Woodstock Fire Department and rubber ducks adopted by local residents and visitors. Every duck in the pool represents a $5 donation to the Cherokee Youth Program, which supports positive enrichment and educational opportunities for local youth.
The more ducks a participant adopts, the more chances they have to win one of three exciting raffle prizes. Each duck is tagged with a number linked to the donor, turning a simple rubber duck into a ticket of hope, support, and fun.
Who Took the Plunge?
Adding to the excitement were two community leaders who didn't hesitate to make a chilly splash for a great cause:
Mayor Michael Caldwell of Woodstock
Mayor Bill Grant of Canton
Both mayors bravely suited up and leapt into the cold, duck-filled pool to randomly select three lucky ducks—each representing a raffle winner. Their participation brought energy and visibility to the event, helping amplify the mission of the Cherokee Youth Foundation.
Why the Duck Plunge Matters
The Duck Plunge is more than a unique spectacle—it's a fundraiser with purpose. Each adopted duck helps:
Provide essential funding for the Cherokee Youth Foundation
Support youth mentorship, leadership development, and community programming
Bring the community together for a fun, family-friendly experience
It's truly a Triple Win:
Ducks raise funds. Mayors pick winners. The community has a blast.

Building Community, One Duck at a Time
The Fan Fest Duck Plunge is a reminder that when a community comes together—even for something as whimsical as rubber ducks—real change can happen. Coosa Valley Credit Union is proud to stand alongside local organizations, residents, and leaders in supporting the youth of Cherokee County.
We look forward to many more years of partnership, fun, and, of course, plenty of ducks.
